- Indis is pillar in the tragic history of the Noldor, if not the trigger. After Míriel's passing, Finwë asked the Valar to be wed again to Indis, close kin of King Ingwë, but the terrible price was that Míriel would never walk in the world of the living again. Fëanor, thus hated her and disliked her children. When Finwë died at the hands of Morgoth, she exiled herself with her eldest daughter to the Vanyarin settlements at the foot of the Taniquetil where she had been born. Her golden hair, a vanyarin trait, was passed down to the most famous of her granddaughters, Lady Galadriel.
