- Minhiriath was a land in southern Eriador bounded by Brandywine to the west and Greyflood to the east. Originally it was a large woodland, but during the Second Age it underwent deforestation by the Númenoreans. After the division of the Northern kingdom it became part of Cardolan. It was damaged by wars with Angmar, the Great Plague and heavy flooding, so by the end of the Third Age it was largely deserted area with sparse population.
