C. S. Lewis
Clive Staples (C. S.) Lewis (29.11.1898 Belfast – 22.11.1963 Oxford[1]) oli Pohjois-Irlannissa syntynyt, Englannissa suuren osan elämästään viettänyt kirjailija ja kirjallisuuden tutkija, joka oli J. R. R. Tolkienin pitkäaikainen ja läheinen ystävä sekä yksi Inklings-ryhmän keskeisistä jäsenistä. Lewisin kirjallisesta tuotannosta tunnetuin on lapsille suunnattu seitsenosainen Narnian tarinat -fantasiasarja. Hän kirjoitti myös tieteisfiktiota ja kristillistä apologetiikkaa.
Tolkien luki muiden Inklingien ohella Lewisille monia osuuksia Sormusten herrasta kirjoittaessaan sitä. Lewis myös kirjoitti englantilaisiin lehtiin useita positiivisia arvosteluja Tolkienin teoksista:
